Realizing a Malaysian’s dream to visit USA with TraveChat.
Realizing Joshua’s dream to visit USA, New York.
“Where would you like to visit if you could travel for FREE?”
“USA! Probably New York haha.” commented by Joshua Low. He was the first who answered the question.
We asked this question with our members in our TraveChat App Discussion FB group. We often trapped by the cost and travel expenses before we really think about a dream destination that we want to travel to. However, how much does it really cost?
We do a simple calculation, if Joshua travel to USA, NewYork for 16 days!!!!
Firstly as a Malaysian if you are planning to visit USA for pleasure, you need to obtain a VISA. http://www.ustraveldocs.com/my/my-niv-typeb1b2.asp (This link has written clearly about how to schedule an interview with the USA embassy (Jalan Tun Razak, KL) and documents needed.
(1) A $160 usd/ RM662 of VISA application fee is needed.)
(2)RM2432 for the cheapest flight for you Malaysia.KL to USA.NewYork. (Using China Southern Airline) Suggest Travel Date : THU 14/3/2019 – SAT 30/3/2019 (16 nights New York)
(3) RM4700 for the accommodation in the city! RM313 /nights for Mix Dorm 1 bed (The less nights would be cheaper of course!) Suggest Accommodation (1): Broadway Hotel & Hostel (Manhattan) 19mins to TimeSquare * Using couchsurfing to SAVE some nights would be great!
(4)$100usd +- / day ( Full trip $1000 usd =RM4200 +-) as your pocket money, food etc. Daily Cost : Around *can take reference from https://www.lonelyplanet.com/usa/new-york-city/money-costs
As a conclusion:
FREE & Easy 16 days NewYork Trip, from Malaysia to USA will cost you RM10,000 +-
(Include Visa + Flights + Accommodation = RM7800 + Pocket Money)
